About the Webinar
The digital transformation of oncology requires a secure, interoperable, and pan-European infrastructure for data sharing. This webinar, organised by 81Watts and POLIMI, introduces the UNICA project (Unified Network for International Cancer Advancement), a European initiative designed to expand the geographical reach of the European Cancer Imaging Initiative (EUCAIM).
UNICA unlocks the potential of de-identified cancer imaging and clinical data, from mammography to MRI, by connecting isolated repositories into a federated network. The session introduces the basics of Federated Learning, a privacy-by-design approach that enables AI training across hospitals without moving sensitive data. Participants will also gain insight into FAIR data practices and how UNICA supports AI-driven early detection and personalised cancer care across Europe.
